Conisbrough – Olympic Torch June 26th 2012
I was lucky enough not to have to work in the morning on this day, although i did have a bit of a logistical nightmare to overcome to get the photos, in that i needed to be on the 1033 train from Conisbrough to Sheffield, to get for a meeting in Derby. With my car needing to be at home it was left to the girlfriend to drop me off at the Castle, with plenty of time to pick my spot, and me to walk to the station from there.
Thankfully the procession was on time as the torch emerged from Castle Hill and turned onto Low Road. Even the sun made an appearance as crowds lined both sides of the road, all the way to the junction with the A630 (Doncaster Road), which was where i was stood, looking straight down Low Road towards the Castle.
Despite having about an hour to get myself sorted and test the camera exposure on numerous occasions, i still managed to mess up the once in a lifetime photos and ended up with them way too dark, which resulted in a bit of a downer on my mood for the rest of the day. Thankfully Photoshop has enabled me to rescue them……..
