Great Central Railway Nottingham June 2013

The Great Central Railway Notttingham (GCR(N)) diesel gala over the weekend of June 7th to 9th featured the following:

Home Fleet – 20007, 20154, 25279, 31162 (long term visitor), 46010, 47292, 56097 & 73110

Visitors from the East Lancs – 33109, 37901, 50015 (these were brought across by DCR’s 31190 earlier in the week)

As with most galas the visitors were given the majority of the work with the home fleet being rostered limited runs; I have to say this was slightly disappointing with regard to 31162, which is still technically a visitor and was only rostered 1 round trip on Saturday and 2 on Sunday, wiht nothing on the Friday……

31162 worked the following:

Saturday – 1050 Ruddington – Loughborough, 1139 return, top & tail with 33109 (31162 led ex Ruddington)

Sunday – 1050 Ruddington – Loughborough, 1139 return, top & tail with 33109 (31162 led ex Ruddington) & 1350 Ruddington – Loughborough, top & tail with 50015 (31162 led ex Ruddington)

Of course the A1A Locomotives machine performed faultlessly and sounded the part. With the dead weight of a T&T loco on every train it was allowed to stretch its legs. For future workings of 31162, or any other A1A Locomotives limited class 31, see the A1A Locomotives Loco Roster.

See below photos of the gala, predominantly on Sunday.
