Spa Valley Railway (SpVR) 26th May 2014

31206 had seen almost constant weekend work throughout June at the Spa Valley Railway, something that would continue into July; see the Spa Valley Loco Roster for further details.

Over the Bank Holiday weekend of 24th to 26th May 31206 worked on both the Saturday and Monday, with it leading out of Tunbridge Wells on the first train working the following throughout the day:

1010 Tunbridge Wells – Eridge, 1230 Eridge – Tunbridge Wells, 1315 Tunbridge Wells – Eridge, 1530 Eridge – Tunbridge Wells, 1615 Tunbridge Wells – Eridge & assisting in rear of the 1706 Eridge – Tunbridge Wells

It was a pretty run of the mill day really with typical crappy Bank Holiday weather. 31206 did what was required of it but did struggle a little on the wet rails, it appearing not to have any sand in the sandboxes; either that or they just weren’t used when the wheels began slipping going up towards Groombridge?
