Australia December 2012
A 17 day trip to Australia, a trip that had been in the planning stages for over 12 months and was long overdue in on my list of places to visit. In the 17 days we only covered a very small part of the country, namely New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Australian Capitol Territory & Tasmania, which may seem a lot but even that lot was crammed in so tightly that there wasn’t much room for anything going wrong……..
The photos are split below, a comprehensive report of the whole trip can be found here in my Railway section. This report is railway related but does give plenty of insight into tourist travel within the country and especially some great tourist trains operated in the country.
New South Wales
The most extensively covered bit of the country really, including Sydney, Newcastle, Parkes & Wollongong
Victoria
More of a stepping stone to get to/from Adelaide & Tasmania but still worth the visit
South Australia
A journey across from Melbourne by train to Adelaide is recommended; both the scenery & experience are excellent
Tasmania
Nothing else we saw in Australia compared to the beauty that Tasmania’s landscape had to offer
Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
A very brief jaunt; Canberra is spread out over a vast area, it’s prominent feature being the Parliament Building
