Brussels April 2012

A quick trip away with the other half gave way to a little bit of cranking. I have to say i was truly amazed at the frequency of trains, and the amount that were loco-hauled. The fact that they were electric was irrelevant. I just couldn’t resist a bit of “spinning” about in Brussels during the afternoon rush hour. Armed with a list of trains that i might manage to get a Class 20 in on, taking into consideration they should have been withdrawn the week before, off i set……..

I wasn’t disappointed! The 20’s seemed to be sticking to EC97 1309 Brussels Midi – Zurich HB & EC90 1136 Zurich HB – Brussels Midi, not one appeared on any of the actual commuter turns they’d been working the week before. 2007 worked EC97 1309 Brussels Midi – Zurich HB on 23/04, running about 30 late, which was a complete fluke in me getting it in really. 2006 worked EC90 1136 Zurich HB – Brussels Midi on 24/04, which was scooped in between a main course of pizza and a desert of waffles…….

Even the other half enjoyed her afternoons on the bash, neither of us enjoyed the amount of stairs we had to climb during it though.
